Self Portrait In A Mirror

Untitled

Chickadee

Recurring imagery explores self portraiture, dealing with the unsaid, conscious and unconscious. The process of my art consists of journaling and growth, and repetitive exploration through different mediums. The purpose of my work is to connect people in the prevalent experience of dealing with internal struggles, relationships, memories, and promote one’s own self reflection. Experimental processes with ink, letterpress, collage, and painting inform each other. The process allows change and growth in itself because the repetition translates the information differently with each media. The various energies within each piece are explored with different media, and allows me to translate the various marks onto another piece. Through opaque and transparent contrasts of color, I explore my experience of retrospective thinking and preciousness of time and surrounding people. I focus on the tactility of the paint as a part of the subject regarding the reminisce and memory, clarity is found through my perspective while the surroundings fade out into unspecific.
